AAxL Cultural Conjunctions is a site that engages in the review and the discussion of Asian American and Latinx Literatures. We’re especially interested in exploring publications that show strong interracial and interethnic representational modes, texts that remind us that literary taxonomies must take into account contextual hybridities and so-called “contact zones” between heterogeneous communities. This area of the site is inspired by the kinetic imaginations of writers like Sesshu Foster, Alejandro Morales, Brian Ascalon Roley, Helena María Viramontes, Alexander Chee, Malka Older, Bhira Backhaus, and many others who have shown the alignments and disjunctions amongst Latinx and Asian American groups. We thus encourage the development of a virtual space to consider such rich issues and topics.
