The Review of Racialized Speculative Imaginaries (RoRSI) is a virtual space to consider, to discuss, and to critique writers of color (working in the English language) publishing within the generic frame of speculative fiction. RoRSI is inspired by such writers as Octavia Butler, Ana Castillo, Ted Chiang, Louise Erdrich, Stephen Graham Jones, Silvia Moreno-Garcia, Nnedi Okorafor, Karen Tei Yamashita, among many others, that have dared to imagine alternative futures and whimsical fictional worlds filled with magical objects, as-yet unrealized technological innovations, horrible monsters (such as werewolves and zombies), aliens and ghosts, and more. We also consider the critical, theoretical, and scholarly approaches to racialized speculative imaginaries and associated topics (such as animal studies, posthumanism, genre theory, race and ethnic studies, etc).
